[2020/Favorite] Skin Care I Enjoy in 2020 – Part 1

Hello there~ Happy New Year! I hope 2021 will be the best year for all of us (it should be better than 2020!!!)

I had a really good rest during my winter break. I slept a lot, played game, finished my favorite movie, talked with friends through phone. After all of these relaxing moment, I need to realize that another school’s quarter has started – another online quarter with a lot of stress, I know.

I had been testing out a lot of skin care products in 2020, and sorting out my favorite ones was a hard task. However, today I’m here to take you through a really brief explanation about why I love these products. So for today’s blog, I’m not going to write a full review because… it would take to long for you guys, online readers, to go through each item.

LOTION

VASELINE INTENSIVE CARE: Soothing Hydration – non greasy

Rate: 3.7/5

  • It’s truly a non greasy lotion.
  • It has a nice scent of aloe vera – however this could be a cons for somebody else
  • No irritation after using it for a while
  • Cheap and easy to find – I bought it from Target
  • Absorb into the skin really fast
  • My legs got really dry in the winter, and it worked great to heal dry skin
  • You will need to use this consistently, it’s not a magical product that instantly helps to achieve a smooth skin surface by the next morning.
  • I mainly use it for my legs, arms and also stomach haha. It’s a bit yogurt feel on my face, so I don’t use on that area.
  • The consistency of the lotion is milky and light weighted.

IllIYOON: Ceramide Ato Lotion

Rate: 4/5

  • I mainly use for my hands when it was super dry – even drier than my legs. Especially my right hand because I’m right handed, and this hand touches water a lot.
  • The consistency is a bit thicker than the Vaseline, so it would take more second to fully sink into your skin.
  • No scent.
  • The healing process is a lot faster than the Vaseline.
  • For my itchy, dry hand, this lotion does help to reduce irritation
  • Not really greasy after applying – if there is a scale, greasiness would be 1.5/5
  • It’s a bit expensive than Vaseline (not too expensive, I bought it for $13.4 on Stylekorean), and you will have to buy through retailers like Stylekorean/Olive Young

CLEANSER

I have a lot in mind, but these two, I reached out most of the time

My Skin Type: Oily Skin, with pores because I used to suffer with acne. But my skin usually changes into combination during the winter month, so sometimes, it’s dry.

ROVECTIN CLEANSER: Advanced Formula Hypoallergenic

Rate: 5/5

  • I absolutely love this product
  • No irritation or dryness/tightness after using
  • Oil secretion decreases if you use this daily
  • I mainly use this in the shower because it has a pumper, very convenient to reach out
  • A travel friendly product for check in bag because you can seal the pump by rotate it (but not great for carry on because it’s a 175ml bottle)
  • Does retain some moisture on the skin
  • Low pH level
  • My skin feels clean
  • It has a really light scent, really light even though they said it’s fragrance free
  • Gel-like consistency, does not slip easily once you pump the product on your hands.
  • Not too expensive. You can buy from multiple websites like Wishtrend/Yesstyle/Stylekorean, etc
  • This bottle of cleanser should last me at least 6 month – if you like me, only use in the shower

BIODERMA: Sensibio Gel Moussant

Rate: 4/5

All the great things are mostly the same as the gel cleanser from Rovectin. The cleanser is really light and gentle, so I think it should be suitable for more skin types. But I feel like leaning towards Rovectin more because….

  • The consistency is lighter than Rovectin, so it would slip a bit easier
  • You can not rotate the pump to seal
  • Another good point: retains more moisture for your skin after using.
  • I bought this cleanser in a pharmacy in Vancouver, Canada, so I’m not sure besides Sephora or Biotherma’s website, where else can you buy this
  • It’s a bit pricier than Rovectin

LIP SLEEPING MASK

I haven’t found another product that works as great as this one – so this is my second bottle in the past 2 yrs.

LANEIGE: Lip Sleeping Mask in Berry

Rate: 4/5

If you lips are super crappy, cracked and dry, just like me in the winter, you must try out Laneige famous lip sleeping mask

  • Cute, fruity scent – other scents are available like apple, vanilla, etc. So you have a wide range of selections
  • Consistency is supper thick
  • Instantly heal your lips by the next morning. My lips cracked with blood… I applied this at night, and in the morning, my lips were soften a lot.
  • Great to get rid of dead skin cell
  • You have the control on how much product you want to apply on your lips
  • Easy to get rid of dead skin cell on lips if you try to use daily
  • Don’t forget to wash you lips and gently scrub it in the morning if you don’t want to have a weird, sticky feeling throughout the day
  • This small bottle should last you really really long
  • Easy to find and buy: Sephora, Stylekorean, Yesstyle, etc
  • A bit pricy $22 (on Sephora)

That’s all for today! See you in part 2 – I will be mentioning about toner, serum, sleeping mask

Have a great day~
